I've seen '69 Roadrunners with and without the little chrome trim piece on top of the fenders in the front on either side of the hood. Mine has them and I just want to make sure they're correct. Was it an option or something? Model specific maybe? Thanks

You're not talking about the fender bullets are you? If so they were an option on 67-69. Not sure about 70.

Is that what they're called? Top of the fender in front on either side of the hood. Here's a pic of mine, you can kinda see them.

They're hard to see in this pic - but I believe they're your fender bullets which have lights inside that you can only see from inside the car. They're turn signal indicators. Do they have an amber plastic lens inside them?

They're your turn signals. You also have a passenger side view mirror which was and option. And the chrome rocker panels I don't think came stock on a RR.

So if all these items are original I guess it was a pretty loaded up car?

those rocker panels came stock on the sport satellite didnt they?
but Not rr-s,if i remember correctly, the gtxs n sports got those.

to the Op,have you looked for a broadcast sheet?
is your car a rr or a clone?

you have the late 69 turn indicators which came with the optional light package. my RR is an early build and has the bullet style. never saw rocker trim on a 69 RR though

I was told with my vin starting with RM it's a "real" RR, that is correct right? Could the trim have been added?

If your broadcast sheet is still in the car it's probably tucked in the springs under the back seat or back of the back seat. Other places could be in the springs under the front seat as well.

Maybe others can chime in on some other spots it could be located if still in the car.

Post your vin and it can be looked up to see what kind of car it represents. Or look it up yourself by Google - searching for vin look up sites.

R - Plymouth Belvedere/Satellite/GTX
M - Price class Medium
23 - 2 Door Hardtop
H - V8 383 - 330 hp
9 - 1969
A - Lynch Road MI plant
the rest of the numbers are sequential serial numbers.

Try to find a broadcast sheet. You may or may not have a clone. Others will chime in here. I'm not sure if the RR was a separate category.

Do they not blink with the turn indicators?

I always thought the vin gave a definitive answer as to wether it was a real RR or not?

They made different cars at different plants. Mine is a GTX and was made at the Lansing MI plant. I don't know where they made the RR. Before you have a coronary wait until someone else chimes in. I've gone as far as I know how on the decoding. Others with RR will know more by the info provided. As I said I don't know if RR had a separate category. They probably did. Your car has more options than most RR did. Do you have bucket or bench seats?

I am having a coronary. Here's a vid, maybe it'll help?

RM is a Roadrunner, unless fender tag and dash vin were changed
there are other ways you can tell. just open your trunk to see the holes where the emblem is attached, and also the door emblems if you want to look farther into it. the holes should be perfectly round
