Installed a dakota digital dash in my 1969 sport satellite. New m&h harness. The dash functions perfectly in all aspects, however, I cannot get the tach to read.
I have a 4 seconds flat custom distributor with their control box and pertronix coil. I have swapped between it and a factory coil, and to a mopar orange box. I have continuity tested the wire from the negative side of the coil to the dash control box. I have ran a completely separate wire outside of the car to the control box.
I have talked to 4 seconds flat, and dakota digital. 4 seconds said i may need something for rf interference, but could not provide me any values for a coil or choke, or resistor. Dakota is working with me, the first suggestion was to change the cylinder count to "1". The tach wakes and does a guage sweep, during key-on.
I read a previous thread on here which suggested some sort of tach driver is needed.
The original tach functioned fine.
