Looked at a 69 Super Bee, vin had the letter "D" for the assembly plant. Which plant would have made this car?
Also the code on the transmission pad was "2892090L2680 _ 4384", can anyone tell me the info on this transmission ?
Thanks,
Bob32268

Thank you very much for the Assembly Plant letter "codes".

Your plant is not D
They didn't make Coronets a D plant.

Plants ABEG made B-bodies
Plants CDF made c-bodies

Trans is a 69 383-2bbl. Made Nov 28,1968

69 Super Bees were only made at:

A Lynch Road,
E LA or
G St. Louis plants.

You either have a typo (look at D and E on a keyboard) or read it wrong.

Got a pic?

Thank you for the information. The engine is not original to this Super Bee so if it has a "D" in the vin the engine could have come from a "C" body car ?
Tks,

I was giving the vin from the engine pad, not the vin tag on the upper left of the dash. The engine is not original to the car (obviously), just trying to figure out
what type of car the motor came from originally.
Tks,

The engine with a D in the VIN did come from a C body.

Learn something every day here.

I've never seen a C or F plant car.

Now I know it's because they didn't build B body cars there.

Thanks again @69Coronetrt !!!

IF the engine came from a car built at the Belvedere plant (D VIN), the engine HAD to have come from a full size Plymouth (Fury) or Dodge (Polara/Monaco) because that's what they built for that year.

Thank you for the info, I actually was thinking Dodge Polara.
