I have too many bolts and spacers in my box of alternator parts. I have a 1970 440 non ac car. it's a coronet R/t. Which bolts are proper and which spacers are the ones I need to use? Measurements would be most useful and I would be very grateful.
this bolt looks right to me

easy to tell.you have the universal alt brakets,on your 440 use the outer hole(where the two holes are next to each other).put the alt in place and measure to the eng block.that will get you the right spacer.remember there is a spacer that goes between the alt mounting ears as well.

I just got done fiddling with this on my car. I ended up making a 1-3/8" long spacer for the bottom and a custom length for the top, which incorporated the thick washers supplied with the new alt. I have machine tools to it's sometimes faster than typing out my address, payment info and opening a box.
