I have not researched it but, I think just a replacement/swap to a electronic voltage regulator would provide the stable output recommended for the electronic ignition. I you want more alternator output- go to the square back alternator with matching regulator.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

As above. An electronic version of the 69 down regulator should work fine. That is what I have on my car.

The solid state mechanical look alike would do what you are wanting.

Year One sells a retrofit engine harness with the factory style electronic ignition wiring, plus the later style voltage regulator. For the earlier cars. Makes for a super clean install.

You don't need to replace the alternator if you are converting to Electronic ignition.

I still use the same alternator in my 65 Belvedere after I did the electronic ignition conversion. I just had it rebuilt at a local shop. They added a voltage regulator to the rear of it but that has nothing to do with the conversion.

It is recommended to use a solid state regulator w/ electronic ignition replacing a mechanical regulator. You should not need to replace alternator.

Replace the alt… depending.

If replacing the regulator for a factory electronic regulator (as adviced) and you are running a single field alt, you could:

-Replace the alt for a double field alt
-Become your single alt onto a double field alt (yes, is posible)

Or as mentioned:

-Install an aftermarket direct replacement regulator being with electronic inners instead the factory electromechanical to keep using the single field alt.
