1970 ac line gets hot. Normal?

The line that runs from the compressor to the condenser gets really hot really fast when ac is turned on. Ac is cold. Is this normal?

Yep, that’s Hot compressed gas.

Yes, that's the high pressure line/ discharge ..... the suction line/ low pressure will be cold
