1970 Coronet passenger vent cable placement

Installed my restored heater box (non-AC), works great, except I can't figure one thing out. This picture shows where the vent cable attaches to open/close the passenger side vent:

I went ahead and purchased what I think is the correct cable:

The only problem is it's like 3 feet long and not very flexible. I don't think I can contort it to allow me to screw the handle in somewhere under the passenger-side dash, which you'd think is the most logical place. Anyone got any ideas where this should go? I can't find any relevant pictures or diagrams. It's driving me nuts.
 
Ahh thanks. Unfortunately that's exactly where I put my manual choke cable. Looks like I got some rearranging to do...
