Hi Guys. I repaired/repainted the trunk lid on my 1970 Plymouth GTX but did not take note of the hole locations for the UPPER molding/trim. This is the upper molding that runs across the rear of the trunk lid between the quarter panel outer moldings, not the lower molding under the lid lip. Does anyone have pics or measurements as to where I need to drill the holes for the retaining clips?

Thanks

If you still have the original piece of trim you can line it up as on the back the clips will have rust marks where they were... Might need a 2nd pair of hands to line it up. Hope that makes sense

The old trim was polished. Any idea on the correct diameter holes to drill? I don't want to overshoot on the diameter of the retaining clips. Thanks

Sorry no I don’t. If I had to guess it would be the same size holes as the ones in your quarter extensions.

The factory did two holes on the ends and then double sided tape for the rest.

Get the clips that fit in the center of the trim and drill for the size of the stud you have.

I can take a photo of my lid open to see how far from the edge.

Ok. I thought it was 6-8 holes all across from what I've seen on a couple factory lids. For the two tail-panel outer moldings, I need 3 clips on each side. I only have one original (pic below). These are plastic. Is this kit with the tape compatible? Any suggestions?

Those are the clips I'm using on my GTX. Metal with a stud, not plastic. The same ones that fit the deck lid trim fit the quarter extension trim.
