1970 Hemi RR engine compartment pics

I've been debating back and forth whether to paint my '70 the original B7 blue or Hemi Orange. Seeing your car has made the decision easy. That car is too cool!

Hi Dennis

I cant make it on that Day

Because i have friends coming to Cars & Coffee in Novato that day,
We usually get 200 to 250 cars in the summer, nothing like Danville though
i would like to see your car and talk, your Car looks really nice. I will try for the following month or maybe you would like to come to Novato & bring some more Mopars with you, not a lot of Mopars up here besides my 2

Would love to have you guys at out cars an coffee in Dallas. Our turnouts are in the 1k to 1500k range of attendees all make and models.

Ok i have a 70 Hemi but it has wrong carbs from a 68 Hemi

The 70 rear carb has an additional vacuum inlet high on the carb next to where the fuel inlet is (& the 68 carb does not have this) which i think goes to the breather on the right valve cover. So the correct breather has 2 inlets one to the carb & the other one goes to the back right side of the bottom black air cleaner housing. is this correct? Also the other vacuum inlet at the bottom rear of the carb goes to the pvc valve on the left side valve cover. Just trying to figure out haw all this works. i am used to working on older cars that dont have all this clean air stuff

thanks All comments are appreciated

The emissions carbs are more difficult to find.

Mine was just a garden variety 383 originally, I'm currently putting together a Hemi for it but progress is slow. 9 months in and no end in sight!

I'm a big fan of original and/or stock appearing mopars like yours. Saving pictures of your engine bay on my desktop for reference.

The reason i asked is i was told mine was the only B7 1970 Hemi RR Hardtop built?????????

am still trying to figure out how correct it is, & fix what is not

good luck on your project sounds like fun

a legend in your own mind

My Hemi RR has its original Federal pump with 3.55 gears has no power steering cooler. My Bird with its original Saginaw pump has a cooler. You are good the way you are. Note the 1970 air cleaner should have no engine call out on a Hemi. only 440+6. In 71 it was swapped. Hemi got the cool sticker and 440+6 got nothing!

So for 1970 the air cleaner only had the little Yellow Sticker with instructions for cleaning filter & Made in Canada ?

Also do you have 70 carbs 4742S & 4745S or 4746S? the reason I ask is looks like you have the same breather that I have on my car with only one inlet. I think the 70 rear carb had a vent next to the fuel inlet that also goes to the breather with 2 or 3 inlets depending on whether it was a California car or not?

Also very nice cars thanks for the great pics

My 1970 Hemicuda is also a single outlet oil breather. I am certain 1971 had the extra nipple and I've seen survivors with and without. I've also seen survivors with three nipple oil breathers. My rule is 1970 is single. 1971 double on a 4BBL and triple on a 6BBL. 72 and up Single. If I used repop 6BBL carbs 1971 carbs I use the double nipple breather.

RRT could you please send me photos of your engine without the air cleaner so i could get a good look at the carbs & all the the things goinr to the carbs

Thanks Larry

Ralph do you have 1970 Carbs on your 70 Hemi RR

If so could you post some pictures of the engine compartment with a good shots of the carbs

I am trying to see how the vent hose from the rear carb is routed to the Breather cap (see the vent tube on the rear carb below)

& also see what the correct breather cap looks like
