We are selling our 1971 Dodge Charger SE. Its a great car in need of some time, restoration, paint and effort. $18,000 and located in Southern California.

Unfortunately it has light rust in usual places (quarter panels and wheel wells), but no holes in right floorboard, rear floor boards, and trunk. The left floorboard has a tiny hole the size of a pencil end. We cut off the right quarter panel because of the rust in an attempt to replace it, but never got to it. Best to replace it with an AMD piece.

The car runs and drives fine but needs a new gas tank. Every once and while we will need to change the fuel filter because it clogs from rust (comes with two new fuel filters).

Interior:

We mounted a blue tuff wheel in the car to match the interior since the original wheel needed restoration (old steering wheel included). The horn works! I have all new carpets and have all the interior panels and pieces except the driver’s side SE blue door panel. New carpets are not installed in the car as we haven’t put them in, so theres nothing to hide! The passenger door has a new window roller kit installed and a new door hinge. I have the kit for the driver door window rollers and also a new hinge (along with the old hinges). It needs new seals, but we have new whiskers for it. It needs interior roof rust repair and rust removal.

We took the dash out and installed a new Evan’s wiring dash kit. It needs some help, as the dash gauges, with the exception of the speedometer (it works) don’t work. We installed accessory gauges for fuel, oil pressure, alternator output, and temperature.

Engine and suspension:

The front suspension has been completely rebuilt and we have a new PST extra kit for it. The power steering box has been rebuilt too. It originally came with a 383 but now has a 440 engine (1978) with a 4 barrel carburetor and aggressive valve covers. The car runs great and does not smoke. We had the 727 transmission rebuilt and the rear end was rebuilt with a 3.55 gear ratio Sure-Grip. The rear brakes were rebuilt and the bearings are new as well.

It has new front disc brakes from Dr Diff, and has had an alignment and go-over from a reputable mechanic.

New horns.

Paint:

The car was bought with the exterior paint stripped off and no clear coat. It has surfaced rusted, and in some places (the roof and the trunk lid we Eastwood power stripped it to bare metal and painted it with rattle can primer.

The car comes with 99% of needed pieces, it just needs to be restored, painted and put together. It was made to be a hot rod! It has hp headers and has side pipes as well! It really moves with lots of power and and a power drivetrain in it! It drives, gets lots of thumbs up (even from police officers) and sounds great. Windshield wipers work too.
