1971 Exhaust Manifolds

BOY Oh BOY....it took an act of Congress to delete my old conversations. What a hassle. Almost as difficult as getting a "REAL ID" card from the California DMV!!!

What I want like to know is what are the correct casting numbers for the set of 1971 440 6 PAK exhaust manifolds. I have been told it is 2899970 R and 2951865 L.

Any one have the absolute correct knowledge? Or are these numbers correct?

Do you have a copy of the '71 parts manual? Available on line for free. The six barrel engine (last year of production) had provisions for mounting the intake air preheater stove assembly that would be used on emission controlled engines, not necessarilythe six barrel engine but 383 and regular 440s. My original 1970 GTX RS23V0A****** has these mounting bosses on the driver's side exhaust manifold even though the car has the N96 air grabber option and no carb air preheater stove. This should apply to the '71 engines as well.......is your car a six barrel car or not or are building a replica? Tony's Parts or their successor sells the stove assembly if your looking for a source.

The car is a LA built (March of 1971) "V" code. Do you have any part numbers that you could send or provide so I will know what I am looking for? Thanks in advance for the help

The exhaust manifolds originally installed on 1971 440 Six Pack, or Six Barrel, engines were also used in other applications. The following summarizes the use of these manifolds.
