For decades, owners of later generation Chargers have had few options when it came to replacing a damaged original grill on their 1972 Charger. They could try to find an original that was still in good shape or they could opt for a refurbished one or locate an expensive NOS grill.
The problem with most used grills, is that the pins on the back of the grill shear off, or the tabs that secure the grill to the car have a tendency of cracking or breaking off as well. The metal circlips that secure the rubber shield to the back of the grill are often highly corroded, and the rubber seals can be brittle, cracked or covered in overspray.
When restoring one of these cars, you can try to remove the metal circlips to separate the rubber shield from the plastic grill, but 9 times out of 10, one false move and the little plastic pins that help to secure the rubber shield simply snap right off.
Thanks to the R&D team at OER who recognized this void in the market, and invested in all-new tooling, we are pleased to announce that reproduction grills and related components for 1972 Charger are now IN STOCK and ready to ship.
