Hey everyone, need an advice on my 727 tf. I am from russia so we dont have a lot of old mopar transmissions here as well as any kind of quality trans or engine shop. But i was lucky enough to buy looks like a NOS big block 727 torqueflite. It has number PK 4193341 7332 5149. It looks super fresh inside and looks like really new but i still wanted to refresh it and slightly upgrade with b&m kit number 10229. As long as i understand i have a non lockup big block 1985 transmission. But this kit is only for 70-79. Is anyone familiar with this kit and will it fit my year or maybe there is some good kit for my year? I just want in to hold up to 650 horse power and shift faster.

In all likelyhood, the kit is for a '71 - 79, which means it has the front pump sealing rings for the later model pump support. I'm pretty sure the kit will be just fine for the'85 727. When disassembling the trans make note of which internal parts you are dealing with, front servo lever ratio stamped on the side, number of front clutch discs, number of springs in the front drum, number of planetaries front & rear( probably 3).

Cant say for sure... it all looks good. I cant find that kit either...what's in it?? Number correct??

First you don't need a B&M kit. Quality kits are everywhere for less. Good quality Alto green high energy or Raybestos tan frictions are what you need for your power level. 4 plate high drum is a must. It will need to be swapped if you have a 3 plate unit. 3 pin Planets are fine. I'd like to see a 3.8 lever. A solid Kevlar front band is nice but are getting pricey. I haven't had any failures with the good flex bands. A TF2 shift kit will get it done. All these parts won't set you back more than $200. The solid front band and a new front drum would bump this cost up. Shop here.

no I have mistaken. correct is B&M 10229

If theres a difference, it is likely at the front pump, or possibly in the valve body pieces included in the kit. A quick call to B&M should resolve any question, cuz it looks like a good trans to use. If it turns out you need a different pump or valve body (or anything else really), give a call to A&A Transmission or CRT (John Cope) and they'll fix u up.
