Hello Im having problems finding parts for my 1966 318 poly. Intake. Camshaft an lifters. Etc. anyone have any info that could help me. I would appreciate it thanks in advance.

Racer brown does cam shafts as well as Comp & Crane but you have to let then know it is for the Poly family of engines. 318. 301 & the 277 "A" engine and not the "LA" engine.
You can use "LA" lifters or AMC lifters. AMC lifters are the same but just allow the use of hollow pushrods to oil the valve train. They are common to come in cam kits.

I had my original poly cam re-ground. It was cheaper than buying a new one. As for parts, they can be had through any reputable machine shop. EGGE carries parts if you want to order parts online http://www.egge.com/ I would also suggest contacting Gary Pavlovich. Do a search on this site of his name. It will pull up many posts related to the poly. Send him a Personal Message. I ended up getting my parts directly through him. Great guy to deal with and he is willing to share his knowledge regardless if you do business with him or not. I had many a phone conversation with him before, during, and after my rebuild.

As for the intake Gary is working on developing...I have my doubts as to it fitting under the hood of a `66 without cutting a hole in the hood. I am running a `62 cast iron 4bbl intake, Edelbrock 650 on a 1" phenolic spacer, topped with a 3 inch filter on a 1 1/2 inch dropped base. The filter 'nut' is digging into the hood insulation right now. I believe the motor to hood clearance is less in the `66 than the earlier cars.

So then I can just order a set of "LA" 318 lifters then? I called crane and there going to do the regrind 98 bucks plus shipping.

Some websites I've read also say that I can use the "LA 318. Oil pan, timing chain, oil pump and engine bearings , piston rings ? Is this true.

Yes, the Poly takes LA lifters, no problem. There the same.

Yes, this info is covered in the MoPar "Engines" book.

The Poly can use the following LA parts:

Valve springs, retainers, locks and valve seals.
Timing chain cover gasket, timing chain and sprockets. Cam eccentric and spacer and bolt. Intermediate shaft, distributor, cap and rotor.
Flywheel/flex plate, starter, harmonic balancer for internal balance
Crank, rods, pins, bearings for the crank rods and cam
Oil pan, oil pump, pick up, oil filter, pan gasket.
Motor monts, Thermo stay and Thermo stay housing, freeze out plugs.

It will bolt to a 727 or a 904 or it's overdrive upgrade.

I may have over looked something.

We'll alright. Then I have most all the parts i need then. And I was worried I wouldn't be able to find parts for it lol. Thanks for all the info rumblefish360!

I think I would like to find a original cast single Or dual 4 barrel intake if anyone has one or knows where I could find one thanks.

The single 4bbl. Is easy enough. The dual quad factory intake is hard to find and expensive. The also only use the small small Carter carbs unless you modify the intake. I did such a thing to mine by making the 4 holes into 2 ovals slightly wider. Now it will hold any size AFB/AVS. Though you would be hard pressed to use more than a pair of 600's on a stroked Poly.

Right , I was thinking to just build this one standard and put a mild cam and four barrel intake carb combo. And put this motor into my 89 dodge ram. They seem to have pretty good torque to them. And I am in process of building a 440 for my coronet.

Would I have any issues bolting poly engine to 4 spd in my 89 dodge ram?

As long as the Poly engine you are building is a 1962 onwards block you would be fine. The earlier blocks have a slightly different pattern on the bell housing however from 62 onwards they are all the same. Your cranks needs to be indexed for the impute shaft bearing I think? Or does the ram use the same setup as a Dakota and mount the bearing in the flywheel? Some one else may be able to answer the later part of my ramblings
