Im looking for a 4 barrel intake for a 318 poly. Ebay seems way out of sorts on what they are selling an intake for maybe im wrong but 400+ for any kind of intake seems to much. Doesnt matter if it factory or aluminum.

jsrod,

The cast iron dual plane manifold was used up to 1962 on the 260hp power pack engine. The early design was made with a base to accept the Carter WCFB, the later design was made to accept the Carter AFB. Adapters ae available to mount any carb.

This 50 year old manifold is the best choice for a stock or lightly modified engine providing greater low end power and torque. They are getting hard to find but they do show up from time to time. As for price, $400 is a reasonable price for this manifold to someone waiting several years just to find one.

I invite you to check out my website, (if you're not already a member), Poly parts show up from time to time.

Here's something else to think about. I don't know what you're doing to your engine, more carb will mean more cam and a few more upgrades to make it all work. A modified 2V manifold with a 350 cfm or 500 cfm Holley can give great responce and performance. What kind of car and what kind of performance are you looking for

Many folks wanting an upgrade think any AFB carb will bolt on. Wrong. the spacing between bores is narrower on the poly compared to a bigblock. Oh , and the chokes are special too.

What year are you thinking about putting intake on. Kick down is another mod to do.
I also do have a set up.

For this discusion, I am not considering the WCFB intake an option. It is different than the AFB option.

There are two manifolds, one for the WCFB and one for the AFB.

1966 coronet, mild performance, just looking to give it a litte more pep. A buddy of mine has a 3 duce set up that would be cool but i dont think i need that much fuel. If 400 is a resonable price then i will keep that option open as well.

Just for info the 3x2 setup only runs on the center carb when driving normal until you kick it down. When you kick it down [3x2's] you have 1 extra set of secondaries over the 4 barrel,so just driving normal you should see no real difference in your gas mileage.I have some of these setups on my cars so I know very well how they work,I like them very much.Setup properly you won't be diappointed.
