I just got an aluminum intake for my 383 but my gasket doesnt have an exhaust block off plate. Looking online i cant find crap but it looks like most people are making there own. With out getting to crazy whats my best option?

Stuff with steel wool or fiberglass insulation for free

I take a thin piece of metal (even aluminum works). Make the piece wide enough to cover the crossover and the open cavity in the head. Then, make it just a little bit taller than from the valve cover lip down to the head mating surface. I bend a small lip, sort of an "L" shape, then the short lip can go between the little head gasket 'flap' (to hold the shim in place. I made a set over 25 years ago and I'm still using them. I like that size because it covers the open part of the head, around the heat crossover. Keeps things a little neater.
