Hey everyone. I'm wanting to do a 440/4spd A833 swap on my 318/904 1973 Sebring Satellite once I get done with my bodywork and paint. Has anyone on here done a manual swap on their 71-74 RR, Satellite, Charger, etc?

Need to know some words of advice, what I need to buy, etc. Do I need to buy the tunnel hump patch panel for the 4spd or can I just simply modify the stock auto one to fit the shifter?

Is it so much of a pain that I'm just better off living with an auto trans? Or will it be a pretty simple swap?

Will my driveshaft need to be modified/replaced?

Thanks!

i dont have much advice on doing a swap, but there is a company here in ohio that specializes in 4spd swaps in mopars, maybe they could help you out with the parts you need if the guys on here cant. ive ordered parts from them for my 4spd, good stuff.

Is your car a floorshift auto or column auto now? How much are you going to drive the car?

You will need the following parts for a BB swap in a 73 B-Body:

BB k-frame or schumacher conversion kit for SB to BB

If using bb k-frame you will need correct spool type BB motor mounts

correct 4spd trans tunnel(can be bought repo)

70 and up 23 or 18 spline 4 speed depending on how much money you want to spend. There is a member here that has a 70 23 spline 4spd setup for $675.00.

BB bell housing, clutch, pressure plate, fly wheel, 4spd pedals, z-bar/bell crank, shifter(either console or bench), shifter linkages, floorshift steering column(if column shift now)

If you want a console you will need a 4spd console(reproduced) and floor brackets for the console.

You will have to shorten and rebalance your auto driveshaft

BB 26 or 28" radiator

I am sure I am missing something but someone else will chime in

Done lots of 4 and 5-spd swaps in B's and E's. Pettyblue has it pretty well covered. Will add that there 2 different shifter setups. Bench seat and bucket seat. Both take different hump, rods, shifter mount and shifter handle. The bucket seat style with the short handle is the E body style also.

Best to find a 971 oil pan to clear the center link.

I forgot, you will have to make sure the 440 you use has the crank drilled for the 4spd pilot bearing. The radiator will also have to be for a 4spd.

There is a member here oxytousic (sp?) That did have parts for this if you get ahold of him.. Here is a list of things you will be needing, This was given to me before i changed my mind. hope it helps..
