I have been looking around and the general consensus of going from a 318 K member to a big block engine seems pretty varied.

Some guys change the K member and some guys do not.

Obviously torsion bars need to be changed, but can a small block K member be used with a 400ci Chrysler stroker?

Not real sure of what type of car you are refering to , but I believe that most V8 k frames are the same. You will have to have the Big block specific engine mounts or brackets. I replaced a 318 in a 72 charger and reused the k frame, just used the correct big block engine mounts. 73 and up spool mount k frames I beleive use the same engine mounts big and small block.

Iirc all v8 k members are fine for ether big block or small block except for the hemi.

Very good. The car in question is a 1968 Satellite, running a 318 - plan to swap in a big block.

Nice Satellite and 400, I can't wait to build myself a big block for mine one of these days...

It,s just like chevy and ford...Big block uses big block mounts..Small block uses small block mounts...U can get a kit so you do not have to change the k members out...Since you are going from small block to big block...

Good info - I'm planning on the same swap for the same car. One other thing you will want to do is upsize your radiator from the stock 22" to the big block sized 26".

You don't even need that kit.....big block brackets are not that hard to find. Also, the 904 trans mount is in the same place as the 727 or the 833. The factory wiring isn't the same but it's close. Distributor wire for one is different of course.

Man, that room is way too clean! Is it used to build engines in or just for taking pics!? :D
