426 Hemi in a 1969 Charger Daytona

Well, time for more "stuff". Test fitting the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler lines. These are standard equipment on Hemi-auto cars because of the higher stall speed converter used. I found the perfect place to route the one line, through the strength bend that runs along the latch tray. Not sure why Creative didn't put the line there, it fits with a slight bend forward. Guess it was easier hack the latch tray and route the line instead of forming the tube. I may form the tube some more so it approaches the latch tray at a perpendicular direction.

New brake system means new fluid. I went with this very high temp racing fluid. Under the hood of this Daytona, it can get warm....good stuff...

Well, this past weekend, I brought together the 426 Hemi and Daytona. With the help from Tuffy and Jacob, things went pretty smooth. So, finished is a major milestone in Operation Hemi-Transplant.

Lot more to do, but this is one less thing......

Put together some of the lower suspension/torsion bars, heater hoses with the proper routing and modified the MSD Blaster coil with one of ECS's coil label transfers. Came out great !!! That was for all the guys who pointed out the white lettered previous coil...

After a nice and wonderful dinner with the family, Kim can cook !!! I decided to pay some attention to the fuel lines, radiator and well, something else. I straightened some if the radiator core fins that were bend and blow it out with some compressed air. Then I installed the rear and front fuel and vent rubber hoses. Finally, I added a nice touch which is more appropriate now.. 10425119_10202401781387497_7949852163299996646_n.jpg10455041_10202401781187492_2171559575709663314_n.jpg

That Superbee belongs to one of my best friends. Due to some life situations for him, I'm keeping it at my house for as long as he needs. I get to enjoy seeing a VERY nice car in my garage and have the keys anytime I wanna take her out. She's an all-original sheetmetal car, white interior, 383 console automatic with working a/c.... This was from last night when I pulled her out to 'dust' her off.....

THAT is an awesome car. not "my choice" in color, but that "body" make any color look GOOD!!!!

Pleased to know its in good hands for your friend!

OK...... Project Hemi.... Got more done this weekend.. Change out the oil with VR1 40, lowered the car and adjusted the torsion bars, finished the ignition wiring, put the NASCAR rims back on and odds and ends. It is getting closer...

Back on the ground..

Looks great Troy! That Hemi is in the right place! (BUT be a good lookin one in the Super bee too!) LOL

Absolutely awesome!

You know you are watching the big boys when they yank a perfectly good 440 Six Pack and toss that aside for a better engine!!!

Hey at least put the proper balancer on the Motor. That 440 crank is going to take a real beating. If you need a Hemi crank I have a spare Kellogg for 2400.00. made in USA never used still in crate.

Absolutely fantastic! Well done! Keep the pics and updates comin! Oh a video of the first start would be spectacular! Just a thought:headbang:
