hello all
i have a delema / i need to break my cam in on my stand and i am having a problem with installing a starter. i am using a lakwood bellhousing with a 11 inch 143 tooth hemi flywheel. i used a 143 tooth 440 flywheel in the past with the lakewood bellhousing and a stock starter but using the lakewood bellhousing with my hemi 8 bolt143 tooth flywheel the 440 starter is up against the stock exhaust manifold. Also no way to hook up starter positive cable due to no room to mount due it is up against the manifold . i loosened the manifold but no go. What i have is just not going to work. i will be installing motor into 69 RR with a 727 auto. I really want to break cam in and possible leaks on my stand. any suggestions would be great. thanks sjm

I think your problem is the Hemi never originally used the 143-tooth flywheel, only a 172-tooth from '66-'69 which placed the direct-drive starter further outboard, away from the manifold or a 130-tooth in '70-'71. Later manifolds might be different.
