440 Alternative Body choices

Just a suggestion.... look for a late 40s/early 50s business coupe, or two door sedan. They are not high priced, theyre still a mopar, quite a bit of room under the hood (stock flathead six is longer than a 440), and you can go street rod or gasser with it. Light weight too!

440 in a van, local guy in the early 70's did a 454 chevy in a 60's Ford Econoline. Had a little trouble with overheating but that was solvable. Don't know what rear he had in it but he had tires that were 15 or 16 inches wide. Could do wheelies like nothing.

Plymouth, Dodge , Desoto, Chrysler. Plymouth would be lightest (ive got a 49) Chrysler would have the most room, factory straight eight thru 1950. Mopar of that vintage should actually be cheaper than a ford or chevy in equivalent condition.

Do a Jeep it's all the same family

I did that. 4 wheel burnouts are awesome!

75-79 B body cars are somewhat easy to find and relatively cheap.

IIRC they were also popular in Canada.

Many came with 400's. That makes an easy head start.

Where are you in Canada?

That might help with anyone posting a car for sale in a nearby US state.
