440 short block machined and assembled by S & S machine in san leandro.

i just pulled it out of my car and broke it down, thats why it looks all messy...........

1971 std bore block .030 over. 446 CI.
scat crank, stock stroke. 6 bolt.
scat rods with 2000 bolts. 6.760.
ross flat top forged pistons with file fit rings. valve reliefs good for .700+ lift and 2.19 , 1.76 over sized valves . will work with anything u have .
pistons r down in the hole .010, with trickflow heads 78cc chamber it had 10.57 compression.
H series bearings.
balanced.
excess casting flash removed.
brass freeze plugs.
.0025 mains and rods clearance .
solid roller grade cam bearings.
steel billet main caps with ARP studs installed by S & S also.
keith black gear drive all set up .
stock deck height of 10.72 , perfect intake bolt alignment on my crossram.

motor was just broken in driving around to car shows, always ran High zinc oil. i doubt it has 400 miles on it.. No racing yet done, Never had it wide open yet, not even half throttle on surface streets.. Was going to bakersfield and run it this march But i tripped across a mopar mega block, and it is at S&S now getting brought up to spec so will not be using this.

Great shortblock for someone ready to go! Show or go. plus since its only .030 over (runs alot cooler than 1 thats been bored .060+ over) it would also be good in someone's truck, motorhome, boat, etc......
no waiting with this 1.parts r hard to get a hold of and waiting months for machine work to get done behind others.

5900.00 plus freight.

does it have a pilot bushing for a 4 speed installed in the crank?

no. but its easy as this.

Brewer's Performance - Mopar A833 4-Speed Transmission and Component Specialists
This is the "roller" type input shaft bearing that fits in the back of any crank. It's made to fit in the recess in the crank
that's there for "registering" by the torque convertor in an automatic.
Don't go lopping off the end of your transmission input shaft. You won't need to - just tap this bearing in place and you're good to go.
I just put one in my 440 recently. Works like a champ.
