I retired from Scat about 10 years ago. Senior engine tech/sales. I know how their owner was adamant about sizing and material quality. He would periodically cut the snout off a 4340 crank and send them out to the metallurgist for grain flow studies as well as looking for inclusions/correct ingredients. Everyday they did spot checks on sizing from the grinding machines and polishing stations. We did our best to send out a quality product.

Tom is a great guy. I would see him at SEMA and very helpful and nice. I picked up a kit there in Redondo Beach and he was there… Years later I connected the face with the name and found out he was the owner.

When people are genuine, hands-in, and humble… that’s a big deal with me.
