Hi all

Has anyone had a problem with the 440 source roller rocker adjuster studs, the ones used to adjust the tappet clearance?

I recently went to give my adjusters a 1/4 turn to quiet down the tappets and found 2 of the adjuster studs had sheared off and were held in by the lock nut, luckily I'm still running the engine in and hadn't given it any high rpm as I'm sure these could have easily dislodged and gone through the engine.

Does any one know of a good alternative? They are a 7/16 diameter, I'm not sure I want to run the same studs again.

A friend mentioned Harland sharp may do something, anyone know

Cheers

Had the same problem with mine wearing the adjusters on the ball end in the pushrod, relaced the adjusters with Crane part #66770AS-16. No problems for 2000 miles, but now switched over to Harland Sharps.

Thanks, sounds like they are a problem, where is the best place to buy the Harland sharp studs from?

440 Source replaced mine when I talked to them at a show. I told him that I didn't use the rockers yet and he handed me a bag of them so they must know of a problem. May be worth a phone call.
