440 Starter Replacement

Hard to even get an old style anymore. My local auto parts store told me the old school cores are getting hard to find. The last core I took in from my 440 New Yorker they gave me a late model style mini as it's replacement.
I offered the storage bin I have full (about 15) of old core starters for rebuilds and another storage bin full of alternators (about 20) .They didn't want them.
Find a rebuilder, maybe they would want your cores.

I just put one in my 67 Charger with a 383 and the cable going to the battery is too short. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it work. The starter is new, and I didn't want to just put in another rebuilt starter. The starter I pulled out looked freshly rebuilt.
Would this help?

That was a non issue.
Do you happen to have the model # of the starter you put in? I bought a starter from Autozone and it's just not worth all the work. It's a new unit, but I just cannot get it to fit right. Thanks.

I linked up the ac delco on Amazon and the adapter for the wiring earlier in the thread.

I bought a mini starter from NAPA. I had to remove an outside cover to get the starter, there was another pair of studs underneath as I remember.

RockAuto has a new ACDelco Gold 3371096 for a 1993 Dakota 5.2L, for a surprisingly low price and no core charge. Would this unit work (1970 Charger 383)? It's pretty cheap on Amazon too: ACDelco 337-1096 Professional Starter, Starters - Amazon Canada

I bought one from Rock Auto. I saw the AC Delco one, but it was only a one year warranty. So for another 10 bucks or so, I bought one with a lifetime warranty. I hope I don't have any problems with this one.
