440ci Block Stamping Info

Hi,

I am working on my 67 Coronet, it has a 440ci motor, there are some casting numbers and stamps on the block, I took some pics, other than the 440 stamp I was wondering what the other numbers mean, at the top passenger side there is stamping: 5 * 23 * 75, is that the month/day/year of the motor?

Any additional info greatly appreciated... Thanks

block was poured on 5/23/75, on night shift (thank you capt obvious.. right?)

4006630-440-7 makes it a late 75-up 440, this is the tooling that started the revision w/ the thicker mounting ears and bigger cooling passages...

Onto the ID pad...

5T is the code for 75, E is cast crank

engine was assembled on 8/6/75

Which goes to show that through the 70's the traditional '8/1 was the first day of production' shifts into August. Here you have a 75 model engine that was not assembled until the first week of August (1975). Presume the car was assembled after the engine and you are looking at a '75 model car being built in the second, or possibly, third week of August 1975.
