Hey all,

Does anyone know the thickness of the 440 Source dampener shown here? Internal / External Balance Black Damper-440 Source

I need a later model dampener for my 440 block that is 1-5/8" thick. The one I have is a 65 year and is 7/8" which is throwing off the pulley alignment by 1/2".

I just measured the one for my 74 and its 7/8"

If the rubber is in good shape, no. Many if not most people on here are running original balancers. What is your motor? Steel crank 440? Cast?

I wouldn't spend the money on an old used balancer. Put that towards a new one.
