I'd find a use torker for 100 bucks. The tunnel ram will work though, it may make slightly more power when tuned right too, i'm just not sure how easy that carb will be to tune on that tunnel ram. It may be fine ootb, who knows.

I wouldn't run two 750s though.
 
The scoop i have is a Hilborn scoop. I did check out the Victor intakes though , nice looking. But it's hard to judge just how tall they are. I am gonna check with a buddy and see if possibly he may have one I can use for mock up just to see where it puts my scoop on relation to the hood. Still stuck on that thing sticking out of the hood.
 
I have heard that the M 1 intake is a very good one to use on a 440. The thing about a single 4 barrel is that they are real easy to set up and tune. Only 4 jets instead of 8. And 1 linkage.

Intakes that would prob fit under a stock hood are: Stock cast iron, Holley Street Dominator, Older alum single planes like TM 7, Torker, or DP 4 B. Ones not likely to fit are: the Victor, Indy. These have a high runner angle for improved flow, which raises the carb height.

Also the Performer RPM may fit under the hood with out a spacer. That is an excellent all around intake.
 
Thank you all for helping me on this. I am willing to spend the extra cash for another intake , that just means that i have to fox the hole in my hood. Was really trying to keep the cam scoop stocking out of the good though. But I'm guessing we can't always have our cake and eat it too. I will be checking on the tallest intake though , just in case.
It's not a flat hood , it has a 2" lifted center so it's gonna bea challenge.
 
I would steer away from the dual quads all together if it were me, the only real reason I see for them is the cool factor. Keep it simple and you'll be sure to get more enjoyment and less headaches out of it.
