489 center section

I have a 489 center section for an 8 and 3/4 that has been setting for years. Unable to turn the yoke. Is it savable?

You can salvage anything with enough $. Tear it down and inspect to find out how much $.

most likely it can be rebuilt unless the caps/adjusters are totally rotted away

Soak that sucker in Blaster for a few days and see if it frees up

Is it rusted?
Has it had metal run through it?
Can you rock the ring gear and feel the backlash?
Can you rock the yoke and feel the backlash?

I say yes, unless its been out in the rain or underground for years. Maybe just need bearings even.
