62 plymouth power steering interchange

First we need to know what engine, then we can go from there.

Thanks, Some LA brackets 273-360 will work, Depends on what year pump.
The boxes are all about the same from 60's thru mid 80's on passenger cars.
Pitman arm are different on most models. So you would have to know where the box came from.
Don't know what your budget is so you may or may not want to use used parts.
IF you are thinking new there are several companies that offer complete kits with modern components.
This photo is of a 64 Dodge with the early pump/brackets on a poly. That is known as a Federal pump(large fill cap) I think they were used up until 69 or 70 I don't know for sure.Later years were Saginaw pumps(small cap).

My budget will most likely be on used parts. Good to know that pumps and brackets from the LA series engines might work. Been reading about the 62-72 PS gears having the small sector shaft 1.11". And the 1973 and up having the large sector shaft 1.23". And the pitman arm is shaft size specific. So it looks like I will need a 1962-1972 PS box.
My steering column right now is the long manual steering type. Can I get a universal splined modern steering coupler, and cut my long shat. That way I would not have to replace the whole column ?

Will the more modern "canned Ham" pump and brackets, fit and work on the Poly engine ? Don't care if it's not OEM correct

You may have to play with the brackets. Small blocks up to 69 used the cast iron water pump like your poly.
So those years may work. In the photo you can see the universal joint on the steering shaft that was cut down from the manual box steering shaft.Check with a company called Bergman Autocraft for that joint.Bergman also has complete kits and or other parts such as correct hoses.

Same. That's what is on the car in the photo.

Curious, not to hi-jack this thread lol, what headers are on the car? TTI? Reason I ask is you have more distance from the header and the power steering hose connect than I have. Also part of my hassle going on is (maybe) to do with the pitman arm being canted up a tad causing the left end rod/pitman to hit the torsion bar. (I have another post about this but thought I'd jump in here viewing this interesting chat with pitmans). I had a FFII box installed and not sure if this might be causing this ill due to some positioning or such. As it is, it appears that if the pitman can be bent (or trying another) I'll get the clearance, just that I'll still not know what caused this considering new mounts are on. Thanks

did not think about the cast iron vs aluminum water pump changing things, thanks

TTI's and Borgeson box.
Beaut motor...at a glance thought I was looking at mine. Photo was from about 2 years ago, have since put in new BH (needed it bad), some rewiring, top seal for radiator as at the time was dealing with engine heat problems. I see you have holes in the top frame of radiator for this. Mine didn't so had to drill holes for this.

Yep some do, some don't.Photo of my 64 Plymouth no holes. My 65 Slant 6 car has holes.
I had thought it had to do with engine or options but guess not.

Seal was a tip I got from ColoradoDave in my hunt to reduce the motor overheating. Added a 7 blade and oem shroud I got lucky getting it cheap refurbishing it, reduced the ratio of coolant and added...well...an additive. Whatever...got the temp down. Photos of shroud and seal install.
