I bought my 63 Dodge 330 MaxWedge in 97 wanting to race nostalgia SS..I went as far as buying a new mega block, Callies crank, 572-13 heads,, basically a complete 572 engine build..

when 9/11 happened, I lost just about everything in the stock market due to a poor financial planner..so I had to sell off the parts and just recently the crank was sold..

not to worry as we had a Duster drag car with a fresh 499 we had built that makes minimum 850hp..I gutted the Duster and sold it off as a roller figuring I could use all the parts in my 63...

last time I worked on the 63 was back in 2004, where I pulled it off my lift and stored it in my trailer. in all that time I was itching to get the 63 back in the garage to finish it off especially now that I have all the goodies, but this time as a street machine..

I didnt want to tie up my lift as I have a 69 Z/28 Camaro that I drive to cruises all the time...I'm limited on space..

so finally a few weeks ago, thanks to my buddies, we moved the trailers around, pulled the 63 Dodge out and with some strength we yanked the 1965 GTO that I had sitting in an air Bubble out of hibernation for 11 years...no dust on the car at all thanks to a filtered air system that keeps the bubble inflated..so the GTO is now in the trailer and the Dodge is now where the GTO was ...I started work...again..

here are some pics of the 63 Dodge sitting in place..its now up off the floor on movable jack stands..

and this is a real maxwedge that was ordered from Grand Spaulding Dodge that had a 426 stage II w/3spd on the floor...was always raced, never on the street and was know as "TAMELESS"

I thought the paint job looked familiar, as well.

the last time this car raced was back in the 80's...raced originally at US30, Oswego, indoor racing at the Chicago Amphitheater and sometimes at Union Grove...was white w/blue interior...

I have owned it for the past 14 years...

I also have a complete AlterKtion front end assembly that replaces the stock K member and suspension..has tubular upper and lower control arms on Heim joints and uses coil overs instead of the torsion bars plus it has rack n pinion steer

at one time there was a straight axle installed..

I cant wait to see it when you get it done. Ron

I've been working it the last few days...welding, grinding, measuring, welding some more....started to fit the wheel tubs in...been 11 years since I bought them and finally opened the box up..also have the aluminum interior and trunk panels that need to be fitted...but thats later

Looks great, good luck with it sounds like its going to be quite a car, love the color..

Can't wait to see the project progress. The 63 dodge is one of my favorite early b bodies.

Looks like it will be a great project, should be very interesting.

I took some pictures showing some grinding and sanding of the surfaces as I left them back in 2004..

I took the 9 inch out and as you can see I jacked the car up so I can get under it allowing me to move it..

and pics of a crowded garage..

I haven't been able to work on the 63 Dodge for at least a year due to multiple surgeries..what I have done since posting is, the engine is set back 6", started bending up roll cage...the rear is complete...pictures do the talking
