'64 727 speedo gears

Howdy!

Over the winter I swapped my old 2.76 rear gears out for some 3.23s in my '64 Polara. Along with that territory is replacing the speedo gear. Currently my speedo read 20mph high. I believe I have a 16 or 17 tooth pinion in there currently.

Chrysler charts show that I need a GREEN 20 tooth speedo gear. I have searched the web pretty intensely and have come up empty handed. I think brewsterperformance.com shows them, but say they are out of stock.

I know these gears are hard to come by, and I know finding one is like a needle in a hayfield, but does anybody here have one they would part with?

I would have put this in the classified section, but I figured I'd post it here because we are the only group that uses these gears.

Thanks, mine are all later model. I have nothing that looks like that. I sure don't recall what my '65 parts looked like.

It seems the 20 and 21 tooth pinions are in the highest demand and therefore the hardest to come by.

Yea, there's no index wheel like the newer models. Somehow it works. I changed mine when I installed the 3:23 and it works!

Here's a 17 tooth (on the left) and a 19 tooth (on the right). Someone knew what they were doing back then, all you have to do is swap them out.

The drive gear is machined into the output shaft.
