Hello, does anyone know how the original 64 super stock grilles were modified? I have at least one spare hanging around and am tempted to cut it up and delete the high beams. It really seems to change the look of the car. Thanks

Go over to exterior thread alot of input over there.

Hey Jeff. THANKS ! Please Post some Pics of Those Treasures !

The pics should be self explanatory on where to cut, after I air sawed it, I filed the cuts smooth for a good fit. Since short of welding, there's no way to attach the new segment on the bottom, I riveted a tab inside and gently bent grill in to give it some "spring" which holds it tight against the tab.

that's EXACTLLY the way mine looks & was done. looks BEAUTIFUL !!

From the factory the extra segment to delight the Inner headlight was just riveted in place cut out of another grill. Looks crude but that’s what they did. Plan on doing it to my 64 Plymouth as well but that involves chopping up some headlight bezels too.

I’ve done quite a few of the 64’s, I TIG weld everything back together. I have a spare 64’ hood latch tie bar that I use as a jig for cutting/welding. They are fun to convert, are the thickest grille, and when all polished up and painted, it makes the front end just look mean!

This was my 1st SS grille conversion on my 64 Dodge. I’ve done so many for members here on the forum and also I have a few that were sold to International customers.
