What size arm rests were used on the `65 Coronet 500 hardtop? I've got a boxfull of arm rest bases of varying sizes and trying to determine which ones to re-chrome. There are three sizes:
(a) 10" lg w/ ash tray cutout, [P/N 2490016/7]
(b) 11-1/2" lg w/ ash tray cutout [1211 VZ1 LH/RH]
(c) 15" lg w/o ash tray cutout. [2490038/9]

I could make no sense of the parts number using my `65 parts book. Going back to an original `65 Dodge dealers option book shows the following (copied exactly as listed):
Armrests, front: Long bright (2-dr. HT & Convertible) - Std
Armrests, rear: Medium bright (2-dr. HT & Convertible) - Std
Ash trays, front & rear : (front only Coronet) - Std

None of my old Dodge sales literature show a clear picture of the arrm rests for the Coronet 500 HT. Lots of pics of the convertible, which shows the very arm rests in the front - can't tell about the ash tray. And the convertible had a different rear arm rest.

If anyone out there has a `65 Coronet 500 HT and could check what the arm rests are, I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Steve

The longest ones go in the front and the shortest goes in the rear and those have the ash trays in the arm pad.

why rechrome a old set i bought new reproductions for the front off ebay from a company for like 37 bucks a side and they look and bolted up just like the originals nice pieces i dont think you could rechrome a pair for that kind of money just putting it out there so you can see theres other options that could save you some money that you could to put some where else in the car.

One misstake in 5.7 hemi reply. The 'longest' one of your collection is for a C body front. The correct Long base on for your car is the 11.5''

I had to measure mine, 15 in the front and 10 in the rear. Also check my factory originals to my car and they are also 15 in the front and 10 in the rear, hmmmmm, what kind of whoodoo voodoo is going on here??

Pics of the front arm base

64 Dodge Polara 500 arm bases. I painted mine cause the chrome was all but gone and I was, well, cheap, lol.

May have come both ways. I will yield the expert title on this one to any other 65 owner.
Oh the humility , my pride may be crushed by this post.

That would be logical since I've seen both, but I'm no expert either so it's a draw, lol.

i didnt go out and measure mine and i'm also no expert but i 'm sure 5.7 hemi is correct 15 in the front and 10 in the back.
