Up for sale I have my 1965 Dodge Coronet 500. I started building this project in 2013 and have recently finished, although if you are a true hot rod person you already know they are never done and are never perfect. As the pictures will show, I have put a great deal of time and money into this project and of course will never get it back. For me personally the time I spend in the garage working on a project is more valuable than driving the project around town showing it off. Therefore, I have only driven this car less than 1,000 miles since completion and am already looking at another project. I have listed a brief description of the car below but certainly can’t recall everything I’ve done in the past 4 years to complete the car.

ENGINE;

Built by William Cray Mopar Engines, San Antonio, Texas.

1968 440 block + .030 = 451 cubic inches.

K/B hypereutectic pistons 10.237:1 (premium pump gas).

Cat Performance H beam connecting rods

Chrysler Performance cylinder heads, not aluminum

Mopar Performance camshaft 509/248 hydraulic

Crane roller lifters and rockers.

Mancini timing set

Complete rotating assembly balanced (sheet in hand)

Transmission;

Built by Oakland Transmissions

A-833 4 speed, new Hurst shifter and linkage

Brewers Performance flywheel (balanced) and h/d bell housing

McLeod 10.5” clutch/pressure plate (balanced)

DIFFERENTIAL;

Built by Mike Lense, Riverside Ca..

Chrysler 8.25” sure grip track/lock posi-traction

3.91 gear ratio

SUSPENSION;

Jegs Super Stock leaf springs relocated 4’ inward (tire clearance)

Front complete rebuild, upper/lower control arms, pitman and idler arms, tie rod ends, and spindles.

Frame strengthen 2” .250 wall tubing welded in place

EXHAUST;

2.50” stainless Mopar headers with 3” collector

Electric switch in glove box opens 3’ cut outs

Flowmaster mufflers

COOLING;

3 row heavy duty aluminum radiator

160 thermostat

BRAKES;

Classic Performance disc brakes in front

Dual master cylinder

Front and rear Wilwood residual in line valves installed

Original 11” Dodge drum brakes in rear

BODY/PAINT;
Body is laser straight as the picture shows, yes, there was filler used to get the car this perfect but mostly in the areas where the factory seams didn’t line up perfectly. In 1965 Chrysler pretty much threw these cars together in a hurry especially in the rear under the tail lights where the back panel meets the splash valance behind the rear bumper, that area is now perfect. The car was painted 4 months ago, base coat/clear coat 5 coats clear then polished. The color is original 1965 Coronet medium blue. All stainless was polished, bumpers new chrome, tail light assembly all new, front spears changed, grille changed,
