Hello, guys. I recently saw PG is now carrying convertible well trim for a 65 satellite. Hallelujah. I've had no luck at all locating these 2 pieces over the last several years. They're pricey. But i'll probably go ahead and do it. Equally elusive is the rear 1/4 trim that spans from the door to the convertible well trim. But my plan is to cut some hard top rear 1/4 trim to mate with the well trim. This rear 1/4 trim was, of course, missing when I purchased the car.

Some of the gentlemen on this website have been kind enough to send pics of what the 65 satty vert trim is supposed to look like. But what I really need is some close up pics of the "joint" where the rear 1/4 trim and the well trim come together so I know what to shoot for. So, if anyone can send pics or info of this I would sincerely appreciate it.

Thanks very much!

Be careful if you are talking about the belt molding P&G makes. They reproduce the 64 B body belt molding, it is not the same shape as the 65. FYI the 63 Fury and the 65 Satellite belt moldings are shaped the same however the 63 has 3 Forward Look emblems made into each side, which looks like crap if you have to rechrome the pot metal original. The 65 has no such emblems.

I was skeptical too. It's described on the website as 64 and 65 B-Body belt molding. So, I called P&G to make sure it wasn't a typo. The gentleman assured me it would fit a 65.

Thanks.

He is wrong, I took a P&G 64 piece that Joe Suchy had at Carlisle a few years ago and took it over to a 65 Satellite on display in the field and they are not the same, if they were, they would also fit a 63, did he mention they would work on a 63??? AS I said functionally the 63 and 65 are the same with only the emblems being different on the two. I know what I'm talking about as sure as I know my name. I am going to use 65 belt moldings on my 63, it would have been so much easier, had they worked, to have used the 64 P&G pieces, instead I sent them off to be rechromed. If you don't believe me ask Joe Suchy.

Thanks very much for the info! I was afraid it was too good to be true. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge/experience. It will save me some time and energy, if not a re-stocking fee.

Just to close the loop, I spoke with Joe Suchy about this. Nice guy. You're correct about that trim not fitting my satellite. Apparently, it will fit a 65 Belvedere II convertible. But not my gal. Thanks for the post. I appreciate it!
