Hey, Guys. I'm working on a 65 satellite convertible. I'm trying to decide on wheels and tires. I really like Cragar wheels. I've seen some pretty cool builds having 15x8 wheels on rear that look great. But i wonder if anyone ever tried 10" wide wheels on a 65. Would you have to move the leaf springs or flare the fender to do so? Finally, any photos you guys can put me on to help me decide would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I had 10" Cragars on my '64 Polara with 50 series tires. Don't remember the back spacing but that is easily measured. The 8" with 60 series would be more comfortable.

My 65 Dodge with 8" wheels 4" backspace. Nitto 275/50-15's sectional width is 11.1". Max rim width for tires is 9.5". The edge of tire to lip of outside of quarter is about 3/4". 325/50r15's need 10"wheels and have a sectional width of 13.1". Just as I finished typing I thought about my rear differential, is out of a 68 or 69 GTX so it a little wider than a 65 rear. 5/16" wider each side? Would the larger tire fit, it would be CLOSE.

You didn't say if you're considering after-market or steelies. I'm partial to the "stock" look.

Well, as a true gen-Xer, I'm forever in love with Cragar SS mags. But you present good food for thought. Thanks for sharing those pics. I love that red satellite on the bottom. Maybe candy apple? Nice!

255-60x15 on 15x8 rims with 4" bs. My brother will be narrowing the rear to fit them properly and putting on larger drum brakes and thicker axles shafts and checking the suregrip out. I got a good deal on the rims and tires from one of his customers and since we had to go through the rear end anyway, my brother told me we would just make them fit.
