I've decided to post my 66 Coronet 500. The car was bought to guide me the restoration of my baby (66 Coronet 500), it was not a parts car, I had two others for that. I thought that I'd build this into some kind of monster, but as I learned about what I had, I realized that this car needs to be what Dodge meant it to be.
Here's what it is:
From San Antonio Texas
66 Coronet 500
two door hard top
bucket seats
console
318
solid floors
Minimal body work ( mostly blocking and paint)
Here's the kicker...3 on the tree!
There were 201 made!
Here's what Dodge did: there's no hump in the tunnel for a floor shifter, so the console base is for an automatic. The plates on top are for a 4 speed and the shifter boot was replaced by a "shifter delete panel"....and I have this shifter delete panel. It's a nice die-cast piece that matches the horizontal groove pattern of the rest of the console top and has the Chrysler number on it. This piece proves the story and you are very unlikely to ever find another.
The big problem with this car is me , I really feel that this must be put back to original. I'm not asking a lot for it, I just want the next owner to make me believe that this the intention.
I have mostly everything to put it together, seats, console, bumpers, grille, trim
If you want to hear more, please PM me. Please pardon the pictures, my wife would only allow me to put an unfinished in our wood lot.
