ok, got a 66 satellite cloned to a 67 gtx. the car originally came with a 318. we swapped the k frame out of a bb 66 or 67 charger.

its got an edelbrock performer intake with a holley street avenger. problem is that the carb hits the hood. no room for breather. do i need to use factory intake or are there any motor mounts that could drop the motor a few inches?

What size air cleaner do you have on it? You could go for one of the lower profile air cleaners and use a shorter carb stud. And if the 66 came with a V8, any V8 will drop on the K frame using stock mounts except for a Hemi engine.

ihave an air cleaner from a 67 gtx. but the carb alone touches the hood insulation. whats the lowest profile air cleaner out there?

I have a 440 in my 66 belvedere with a edelbrock RPM intake (which is taller then the performer) with a stock breather which doesn't have a drop base and it doesn't rub the hood. I did install a shorter filter.

Holley Street Dominator. Flows well and is shorter than Performer.
