67-68 BB 727 with a 62-65 rmvb question

I purchased a 727 big block Mopar transmission that was in a 67 charger and when I looked up the numbers, it said it was the year 68 and when I took the pan off to install a deeper pan and filter extension, I noticed it had two holes instead of one and it has a cheetah reverse manual valve body part number 17154 and I did some research on that and that comes up to a 62 to a 65 Mopar 727 reverse manual valve body. Can I run a single hole filter extension? And is this OK to run in a 67–68? And also, does anybody know where I can view the instruction manual for this valve body? Thanks in advance.

That part with 2 holes is just the bottom of the valve body. The top of the valve body has all the shift linkage parts on it. The rear hole for the filter is for the rear pump on a 1962-1965 cable shift trans. They have a front and rear pump in them.

I would guess you could run the single hole filter and extension but I'm not the Cheetah valve body expert. I use a 17156 Cheetah and really like how it works.

I would call Turbo Action and give them your part number and ask them this question. They could also send you opetprating instructions.

Or you could just put it back together and not use the deep pan. Its not really necessary.

Street/Strip I wanted a deeper pan to run a temp sensor. I’m gonna rebuild this trans over this winter. The guy said it worked but I’m going with my gut and just rebuilding it. I called turbo action and there tech line doesn’t take calls till 1pm I left my # and they will call me back. I just wanted to see if anyone else has felt with this same situation and hear what they did.
