Looking for help on the fateners used to attach the aluminum trim to the top of the front fenders and to the top of the doors. I have had the trim pieces cleaned and polished and ready install, but I cannot locate the fasteners and I cannot find anything on the internet. Any help would be appreciated. And are the fasteners available to purchase?

thanks

R/T Specialties sells the entire fastener package...it is about 80 dollars. Just used them on my wifes 66 restoration and they are the correct fasteners...

Thank you Mark....contacting them now.

Hey Carl, could you please post here about your purchase? My 66 needs the same clips, I sent several emails to RTspecialties months ago with no answers, I live outside USA, thanks

I sent several e-mails to RT Specialties also with no reply, so I searched the part number on the internet and found them at herbsparts.com (contact@herbsparts.com). Herbs ordered them from RT Specialties as one of their partner suppliers. I received them and they are exact.

Mark...when you installed the plastic fasteners in the fender or the door, did you have to expand the ribs that push into the mounting hole? If yes, how did you complete that task or am I doing this completely wrong?

Carl

You are having difficulty getting the trim channels to go over the plastic clips/bases?
The plastic clips/bases are on the car?
You have successfully gotten the plastic clips/bases over the mounting studs?
I need to know about this too.

Live and Learn....I feel pretty stupid....the clips that attach to the trim on the doors and fenders are held in place by pins that drive into the clip and expand the ribs in the hole in the fender/door. I was in such a hurry to get the trim installed, I did not see the pins in the package with the clips. Once the clips were installed, the trim just snapped into the correct place with ease.

Thank you Mark for the lead on the parts. They are exact and installing the trim was pretty easy.
