Do I need to pull the tank to replace the sending unit gasket?

Depends on the car. But most times you can just loosen the straps and let it hang a little further down for clearance. But really depends on the car.

I did my sending unit on my 70 satellite without dropping the tank. Pretty easy to do.

Just try and time it so the gas tank is nearly empty......for if you should drop a near full tank slightly......

I did my sending unit on my 70 satellite without dropping the tank. Pretty easy to do.

you can do it in place, have a 1/2 tank or less , it's tight but it can be done
