67 R/T build date

ok , so my 67 coronet R?T has a build date of 9/28 . i am assuming that is 9/28/66 ?

I would think so. I registered my R/T on the 67 R/T Registry Facebook Group. They have all that info, and I found out mine was made in Dec of 1966. I looked and saw the earliest ones on the registry started in Sept of 66. You may want to register your car on there, it is interesting to read.

That is a pretty early build date. Your car must have a very low serial number.

If that date is from the fender tag, that is the SCHEDULED build date. It's likely not the actual date of assembly. The car could have been built a week before that date or five weeks after. It's impossible to know for sure.

That is most likely the case! Unless you have a really high serial number, then perhaps it would be 9/28/67? But that would really surprise me.

Construction of the '67 models would have ended in July of 67. Construction of the 68 models would have started in late July/Early August of 67.

My '67 R/T was built in November, 1966. Serial number starts 143xxx, so is later than yours.
