My car came with an aftermarket chrome unsilenced air cleaner & I want to get rid of it. I'm looking to get a factory correct one & have done some research but need your help.

From what I've read some cars came with the pie tin & some didn't. It was all based on weather or not the engine was HP or not, correct?

Ideally I'd like an OEM rather than a repop, but all depends on cost. I was thinking perhaps I'd save myself some money & just spray paint mine Black, but thought I could also just put it up on eBay and make some money.

There are better '68 experts on this board than me, but I think your air cleaner looks correct except for being chrome. If I'm correct, then I suggest you just scuff the heck out of the air cleaner with some sandpaper...maybe 180 grit & paint it with the correct wrinkle black. Paint doesn't stick well to chrome.
 
Well my long-gone original was wrinkle-Black with no ‘pie-plate’ on it. ‘68 383 SuperBee.
 
Rebel I like yours though. Also, original breather hose fed to the drivers side valve cover though at the front.
 
Thanks! Stupid question I know but I'm not running an orig. carb. I have an Edlebrock 750CFM on it. If I rearrange the hoses like you say it won't matter correct?

Not that it really matters at this point....a 68 Charger would not have the 335 horse HP assembly, if that narrows it down for you and correct” is important.
 
Was doing more research & seems like the 383-4BBL ONLY came from the factory as a duel snorkel type? So if I'm putting my car back to factory spec's I need to get one of these?
