Hi - Looking for a radiator expert - My father and I are restoring an original 68 RR 383 4 speed all manual brakes and steering, no AC, not numbers matching, but we do have most other original parts and fender tag, we are trying to be as true to the car as possible as we bring her back to life - it was a basket case, this is a farm style ground up resto, not a trailer queen, intended to share the heritage and be drivin like it was in the day, 3 years invested so far, hopefully only 2 more to go :)

The original radiator (not with the car when we bought it) is a 2898043, which as you all know is rare and hard (expensive) to find - I have located (and purchased for a decent price) an original top tank and original date coded straps, which are the money pieces, however it did not come with a bottom tank, I would like to do a 3 core rebuild for the car,

Heres the question - does a 2898038 radiator - which is a 68 B body 22 in small block, manual trans and heater radiator, have the same bottom tank, would be a lot cheaper and easier for me probably to buy one of those whole and piece my together - Thanks for your help!

The bottom radiator hose connection is smaller. I'm not an expert but I ran into that problem years ago trying to use a small block radiator on my big block.
