Posted this on a different forum, no takers, so let’s try it here. I am ready to install the rear crossmember in my Bee. Thanks to shipping woes, the left and right extensions are not here yet. Question is, am I clear to install the crossmember with the extensions on (not that I would know the final dimension prior to install……unless somewhat that info??? Any help appreciated….

maybe @conv67bdere
or someone like him, someone that's done it recently

not sure what "rear" cross-member you're talking about

good luck

what's the extent of the work you are doing? are you/did you replace the trunk pan? drops? quarters? has the tail light panel been removed?...... some pictures and context would help

all that being said, the bumper bracket holes in the frame rails and crossmember put it where you want it

I don't think that installing the rear cross member should have any effect on the extensions.

I believe the extensions actually weld onto the trunk floor and then to the bottom of the quarter panels - I removed my extensions and welded metal directly to the fender - thus eliminating the "big black hole" that the extensions create for losing all kinds of stuff in them . . . ( point - after cutting my old ones out, the missing front fender support was found inside one of them )

And I agree with @eldubb440 - pictures and better descriptions would be very helpful . . . we'll be happy to chime in . . .

Rear crossmember (at least that what AMD calls it) is what the rear frame rails attach to. It has extensions that reach out to the rear corners….

Looks like I am done exactly what you are doing. Am replacing rails / trunk floor / crossmembers ….. tail light panel is being repaired, and that’s another story/ question….. thinking the extensions would be better installed when I get those corners all replaced…..?
