There was a fierce discussion about another charger ( a true R/T) and how much the car worth ( post it by hawk eye ) some people say over high 20s other not so much the general approval was that a 2gen charger is a good investment and the price only goes up

I hate to say it, the car is crappy, beat up. But, where else will you find one?
I used to own seven at one time. now, I have seven sets of tail lights on the shelf, since 1982. I should sell them. But I am nostalgic, I guess. In 1980 My wife and I drove to Anaheim from Omaha in my 68 383 Charger, no A/C!
yellow car, we were young and enthusiastic! Married just 6 years. I miss that car.

I cannot tell you how many chargers I stripped for parts in this condition....If I only knew.......

People really need to do their homework for what the costs are to get this car to the level they want......

It is amazing that this one model has generated such extreme interest. I do not seeing it end any time soon. I think when a model is made only as one style, the value Is seen very differently. It was a Unique time..... think of it, the same type of people that built Apollo 9 and went to the moon built and drove home in 68 Chargers,,,,people performed complicated math computatons with a slide rule, and built clay models of cars. style was everything. we have lost a lot.

It all falls on the next generation........If they cannot even afford a decent home in a nice community then the prices for these hunks in the future will go one way.....

Being optimistic is not a bad thing......We all hope the Muscle Car love continues.....However, technology has surpassed......

The designers, nailed it with the 2nd Gen chargers. Especially, the 68....It is a car that needs ZERO body modifications and when people do they look like crap.....It was perfect the first time.....

After driving them so many years, and the attention that the Charger gets, it goes past being a muscle car. The style flat out is very desirable, which is why even 318 Chargers bring big prices. And many collectors do not convert them to high performance modifieds. They simply drive them as they were built.

People do seem to love them, but I don't see anyone young buying them. By that I mean 50 or less. I consider myself an active car guy, and I've never personally known anyone else who has owned a 68-70 Charger. All the old 60s/70s cars are getting very rare, and prices for nice ones continue to rise... but the amount of people willing and able to buy them is also dwindling (imo).

Sold one of mine to a guy in his 30s and the other to a guy in his early 40s. I am in my late 40s and i grabbed the one i always wanted while i still could. We watched the E bodies get blown out of reach years ago. Chargers are doing the same thing. Get what you want now while you still can if you still can. That is simpy my opinion. No crystal ball to show what the future holds in store for these things...

I’m looking for a 68 but if this is the new normal then you guys are witnessing my dreams being crushed.

Home prices will be putting a lot of pressure on every luxury item in the future for the younger generation , if your kids want a home you will have to help them or they will have a forever mortgage .

A friend of mine and I had a discussion not long ago about the ridiculous prices on muscle cars and our take on the situation is it's gonna trend like the street rods have. Let's be honest, yes the gassers, modified 30's street rods and 50's cars are cool but the majority of the younger generation just aren't into these cars and eventually because of that fact the market will fall flat on it's face when no one wants them. Sure there are a few kids who like our muscle cars, but the younger generation is into tuners and such and as the older generation of car enthusiast gets older they pass away or sell the car cause they are too old to enjoy it or take care of it. And as the collectors get older and bored with thes cars they will eventually hit the market again and who is gonna buy them ? The younger tuner loving kids who are broke ? These cars are an investment now but the prices will hit rock bottom someday I guess in the not so far future. You men in the 30-40 range, do you want to collect 20-40's model cars ? More than likely not. 18k for a piece of crap charger that will be worth 40k in 20 yrs lol, not for me...but I wish the new owner luck.

Lot of young kids love the musclecars but can't afford them and most of them can't afford a weekend car and a daily driver .
My son keeps looking at older cars and I love the idea but on his entry level job and saving for school he couldn't afford the fuel to run them .

I agree, in my opinion the 68 charger was the the most beautiful car ever built. I like all the 68-70 B bodies and I like the 70-71 E bodies but the 68 charger is still king in my book.
