68 Charger Hood Hinge

Hi Everyone,

New owner here, recently joined the forum(inherited father's car). After checking some wiring, went to close the hood and passenger side hood hinge, popped. One of the pins snapped and hood dropped. Luckily no damage to hood or body, its hanging cock-eyed on driver's side, but not touching fender, have a fender cover under it just in case. Have used /new pair on the way. Will look into purchasing new after market down the road.

Does anyone have a good step by step video or images for proper removal? Is it a matter of lifting up hood, and the bolts on the outside of the hood? Then removing hinges from fender, once hood is off?

Get help and remove the 2 bolts on each side holding the hinge to the hood. Then the hinge can be removed with the remaining 3 bolts on each side. Pay attention to the washer marks on each hinge. You can install the hinges and the washer marks will help ball park the hinges location. Then install the hood doing the same. Now you can fine tune the adjustments.
