'68 Charger steering box bind

Box fits fine until you try to tighten it down. Then the box binds up and you can't bolt it down. It's a new Lares 11030 power steering unit. ANY help greatly appreciated. Car has never been hit, no damage. thanks

No, it's in my friends shop can get some Monday. Box looks just about identical but... saw this issue in a 10 year old thread but no final reply. Thought to contact the OP but been gone since '14
