68 Coronet Painted Roof.

Any idea if a 68 Coronet 500 318 car with a factory painted roof is of any significance ?

They had a, white hat special. But i thought those were all white vinyl, as part of a trim package ?

alot of east and upper west coast mopars got painted roofs instead of a vinyl top, the reason is the use of salt on the roads in the winter and they would start to rust under the vinyl tops and start to bubble up. Plus it was cheaper to get a painted roof instead of paying more to get a vinyl top

Interesting as this car was sold new from a TX dealership and resided with original owner in southern Oklahoma until a few weeks ago when I purchased it.
